Professional career
Buffalo Bills
NFL Draft Scout predicts Greer to be the fourth or fifth round pick in the 2004 NFL Draft, but Greer is not selected. Greer's scouting report notes that it has no size, a factor that might cause "a problem with dealing with larger receivers." Buffalo Bills signed Greer on 26 April 2004 as free agent that was not revoked. While in Buffalo he plays mostly as a nickel or a dimeback and a special team. In 2008, he started his first 10 games of the season, before suffering an injury.
New Orleans Saints
On March 4, 2009, Greer signed a four-year contract with the New Orleans Saints. He became a starter for the Saints and returned an interception for goals in Monday Night Football matches against the Atlanta Falcons. He was wounded on 8 November 2009, and missed most of the remainder of the regular 2009 season, but returned in time to play an important role in the playoffs.
After the Saints won the Super Bowl XLIV, Greer's hometown, Jackson, Tennessee, honored him with a celebration at South Side High School on March 5, 2010, called "Jabari Greer Day", and gave him the keys to the city.
On February 12, 2014, three months after tearing his left ACL against the 49ers, Greer was cut by the New Orleans Saints to create more room for the team.
Retirement
On September 11, 2014, Greer announced his resignation while appearing on ESPN.
Greer now works as an NFL Analyst for TSN in Canada, as well as campus soccer analyst for SEC Network.
