Drug sports , also known as sports and sports medicine is a branch of medicine that deals with physical fitness and the care and prevention of sports and sports-related injuries. Although most sports teams have hired team doctors for years, only since the late 20th century that sports medicine has emerged as a different field of health care.

Coverage
Sports and sports doctors are medical specialists who have completed medical school, appropriate residency training and then specialize further in sports medicine or 'sports and sports' (preferred term). Specialization in sports medicine may be the first doctor's specialization (such as in Australia, Netherlands, Norway, Italy). It can also be a sub-specialty specialization or second after specialization such as physiatry, family medicine, pediatrics or orthopedic surgery. The various approaches reflect the medical culture in various countries.
Specializing in the treatment of athletes and other physically active individuals, sports and sports physicians have an extensive education in musculoskeletal medicine. SEM doctors treat injuries such as muscles, ligaments, tendons and bone problems, but can also treat chronic diseases that can affect physical performance, such as asthma and diabetes. SEM doctors also advise to manage and prevent injuries.
SEM consultants also provide clinical physical activity interventions, eliminate the burden of disease directly caused by physical activity and strong evidence for the effectiveness of exercise in the prevention of primary, secondary and tertiary diseases.
Drug practice
The Foresight Report published by the UK Office for Science, October 17, 2007, highlights the unsustainable health and economic costs of a nation that continues to be largely inactive. It estimates that the additional cost of this inactivity will be $ 10 billion per year by 2050 and a wider cost to the public and business of $ 49.9billion. Physical inactivity must lead to poor health and predict that the cost of payments for this impact will not be sustainable in the future. There are no medical specialist groups equipped with the skills and training to face these challenges.
Public health
SEM doctors are often involved in promoting the therapeutic benefits of physical activity, sports and sports for individuals and communities. SEM doctors in the UK spend their period of training in public health, and advise public health physicians on matters relating to the promotion of physical activity. Examples of published works include the publication of the Royal College of Physicians.
General sports injuries
Concussion - caused by a severe head injury in which the brain moves so hard inside the skull that the brain cells all burn at once, just like seizures
Muscle cramps - intense and intense pain caused by muscle locks in seizures. Muscle cramps are also known as deliberate muscles and are forced to contract that are not relaxed
Dislocated ACL - An anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is a ligament involved in knee stabilization. ACL breakage can occur when the foot is planted and the knee is twisted to change direction.
ACL tears - anterior cruciate ligament; one of the four major knee ligaments required for comfortable knee movement, tears, causes pain and causes the knee to "let out". ACL knee can tear for a number of reasons.
Ankle sprains - Ligaments that hold the ankle bone in place can be easily stretched.
Shin splints - The tissue that binds the muscles of the lower leg to the shin may withdraw from the bone, or it may be inflamed by overuse.
Muscle Strain - tears in muscles causing pain and/or loss of function
