Writing Love in His Arms ( TWLOHA ) is an American non-profit organization that aims to present hope for people who struggle with addiction, depression, self-injury and temporary suicidal thoughts also invest directly into care and recovery. Based in Melbourne, Florida, TWLOHA seeks to connect people to care centers, websites, books, support groups, and other resources. TWLOHA also encourages people to have honest conversations about the matter, and live in the community.
The name of the organization is a direct reference to the first person they once helped, a young junkie who injured himself by cutting the words "Fuck Up" on his arm with a razor blade - with the group's founders writing an article hoping to help the addict clean up and " To write 'love' on his arm "instead.
Much of this work is dedicated to bridging the gap between traditional medicine (ie rehabilitation, counseling, helplines) and the lives of people in need of help. Examples include music and tour festivals, social networking sites, and schools and universities. Wanting to support existing professional assistance organizations instead of replacing them, TWLOHA also sent some direct donations to causes such as Hopeline, InTheRooms.com, S.A.F.E. Alternative, Mind Your Mind, and Kids Help Phone (in Australia).
The group's main exposure comes from musicians and bands wearing typical T-shirt organizations in photos and shows; however, has recently gained more public exposure through merchandise websites and the general public such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and Tumblr.

Histori
TWLOHA was founded by Jamie Tworkowski in March 2006. Before that, the seeds of the group were sown by a story written by Tworkowski, about 19-year-old Renee Yohe, who struggled with addiction, depression, self-injury and attempted suicide.. The story of Tworkowski, written in February 2006, tells the story of Yohe's life five days before she enters treatment. Unable to get Yohe checked into the treatment center in the meantime, friends offer moral support.

In addition to the story, T-shirts are printed and sold in Orlando to fund Yohe's medication, and the Myspace page is made to serve as a base for the project. Bands like Anberlin and Switchfoot show their support and start wearing the TWLOHA T-Shirt right away, and the MySpace and Facebook TWLOHA pages start receiving messages and comments from young people struggling with the same problems that Yohe faced. What started as an effort to help one person in Orlando quickly generated widespread interest - to date, TWLOHA has responded to more than 170,000 messages from over 100 countries and invested more than $ 1,200,000 in care and recovery.
