The Center for Defense of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury ( DCoE ) is a United States Department of Defense (DoD) organization that provides guidance on all DoD programs related to psychological health ( PH) and traumatic brain injury (TBI) problems. The organization's official mission is to "improve the lives of our nation's service members, families and veterans by advancing excellence in psychological health and prevention and treatment of traumatic brain injury."

History
Eight different blue band panels and commissions were set up in 2007 to examine PTSD, TBI and other war related health issues. Policymakers, representatives of federal agents, war veterans, academics, health care professionals and medical scientists from a number of disciplines are organized to handle the care of soldiers and their families. DCoE was created in response to some 300-plus lead recommendations generated, as well as a recommendation from the 2008 National Defense Authorization Act. The Deputy Defense Minister, Gordon England, announced the opening of DCoE in November 2007.

Overview
DCoE focuses on education and training; clinical care; prevention; research; and service members, family and community outreach. In collaboration with the Veterans Affairs Department, the organization supports the Department of Defense's commitment to caring for service members from the time they enter the service and during the completion of their services. DCoE also seeks to reduce the stigma that still prevents some from seeking help for problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder and TBI.
Organizations have a leadership role in collaborating with national networks of external entities including nonprofit organizations, other DoD institutions, academics, Congress, military services, and other federal agencies. Public health services and civil service workers, including personnel from the Department of Veterans Affairs and individuals of all military services, and contract personnel comprise DCoE staff.
DCoE offers a range of services to help service members, families, and veterans. The organization has a 24/7 outreach center managed by a health resources consultant that provides health information and resources and psychological TBI, references and references to service members, veterans and their families. According to an official summary of the organization, "the outreach center also supports the Laskar Nyata Campaign, an initiative launched by DCoE to promote the process of building resilience, facilitating the recovery and supporting reintegration of returning service members, veterans and their families. services and veterans with unseen injuries and encourage awareness and use of available resources. "
DCoE consists of three centers: Defensive and Veterans' Brain Injury Centers (DVBIC), Center for Health Deployment Clinic (DHCC), and National Center for Telehealth & amp; Technology (T2).
