Korey Toomer

Korey Toomer (born December 9, 1988) is an American football linebacker for the San Francisco 49ers from the National Football League (NFL). He was recruited by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round of the NFL Draft 2012. He played football in Idaho.

Initial years

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Toomer is the son of Pamelisa and Kyle Toomer. She is a 2007 graduate from Shadow Ridge High School.

College career

Transfer junior college from Arizona Western in Yuma, Toomer played the last two years of college football in Idaho at WAC. He saw action on a special team and as a backup linebacker as a junior in 2009 and redshirted in 2010, after suffering a serious injury in the fall camp. As a senior in 2011, Toomer started on the linebacker and also saw the end of season action as a foul as a defender. After the season he was named the MVP team.

Professional career

Seattle Seahawks

Toomer was among the last injuries to the Seahawks due to a shoulder injury in 2012 and signed to the rehearsal team. On 27 August 2013, he was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list. She is part of the Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl 2013 team that won the Super Bowl XLVIII. In 2014, he was released as part of the list of last names.

Dallas Cowboys

Toomer claimed not to be allowed by Cowboys. He was released on October 17, 2014.

St. Louis Rams

Toomer signed a contract with the Rams training team. On October 28, 2014, she was promoted to the active list. He was released on August 31, 2015.

Oakland Raiders

Toomer signed into the Raiders training squad on October 27, 2015 and was promoted to the active list on 31 October. On September 3, 2016, Toomer was released by Raiders. The next day, he entered the Raiders training team. He ended his contract on September 27, 2016.

San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers

On September 28, 2016, Toomer was signed by Chargers.

On March 9, 2017, Chargers placed the original-round tender (fifth round) at Toomer. He formally signed his tender on April 4, 2017, making him under contract with Chargers for 2017.

On September 11, 2017, at the season opener against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football, Toomer forced a run from running back Jamaal Charles. The fear was discovered by teammate Casey Hayward and set Chargers to have a goal-scoring drive in the end.
