Irvin was selected by the Dallas Cowboys with the 11th selection in the first round of the 1988 NFL Draft. He was the first-round pick draft of the last round made by the Cowboys under the leadership of longtime general manager Tex Schramm, director Gil Castt and coach Tom Landry (Schramm predicts that Irvin will accelerate the Cowboys "" back to life. ") Irvin became the first beginner recipient in the Cowboys history to start the season opener in 20 years, where he captured his first career goal.He also caught 3 passing goals in a Cowboys victory over Washington. The Redskins, one of only three wins of the season and the last of a Landry career, finished the NFC lead season with 20.4 meters per catch average.

The Cowboys' misfortune continued the following year when they finished with a 1-15 record, the worst in franchise history, while Irvin's limited injury was only six games, after he was on pace to get over 1,000 yard receipts, tearing anterior cruciate ligaments in his right knee against the San Francisco 49ers and placed on the list of injured reserves. The injury prevented him from playing until the fourth game of the 1990 season, but recorded his first catch until the seventh game and finished with only 20 receptions for 413 yards, but also an average of 20.7 meters per catch.

In 1990, under the strength of players like Jay Novacek, Troy Aikman, and Emmitt Smith, the team began to improve, finish the season with a 7-9 record, and posted an 11-5 record in 1991. Irvin was a major reason for their playoff season 1991, finishing with 93 receptions (second in league), 1,523 receiving yard (leading league), 8 receiving touchdowns and arranging franchise records with seven 100-yard matches. He made the All-Pro team that year and was chosen to be the first of five Pro Bowls in a row.

From 1991 to 1998, Irvin recorded 1,000 yards of season in all but one year, collecting an impressive 10,265 meters over a span of eight years. Along the way, the Cowboys made four straight appearances in the NFC Championship Game (1992-1995) and won three Super Bowl titles with a back-to-back victory over Buffalo Bills on Super Bowl XXVII and Super Bowl XXVIII, and Pittsburgh Steelers at Super Bowl XXX.

His best season was in 1995, when he set franchise records for the reception (111) and received the yard (1,603), while also scoring 10 goals and setting the NFL record with 11 matches with over 100 yards receiving. He added seven receptions for 100 yards and two goals against the Green Bay Packers at the NFC Championship Game on the way to the third Super Bowl Cowboys win in a span of four seasons.

Irvin is the only player to play for each of the first four Cowboys coaches since the team is owned by Jerry Jones (Landry, Johnson, Barry Switzer, and Chan Gailey). Irvin officially announced his resignation after Dave Campo became the fifth Cowboys coach, but Irvin never played in the field for Campo.

Irvin won three Super Bowls with Cowboys.

Won the Super Bowl in the 1990s

In 1992 and 1993, Irvin was the key player in the Super Bowl Cowboys team. In 1994, he enjoyed another star campaign with the fourth consecutive Pro Bowl season, but that year the Cowboys lost to the San Francisco 49ers at the NFC Championship Game. For his part, however, Irvin has one of the most productive games in the history of the NFL playoff, with 12 catches for a 192-meter NFC championship record and two goals.

One of his greatest performances was the Super Bowl XXVII, where he captured seven baits for 114 yards and two touchdowns. His two touchdown goals are both in the second quarter and occur within a span of just 18 seconds, the fastest touchdown pair ever printed by a single player in Super Bowl history. He also became the second player to score 2 goals in a quarter of the Super Bowl, after wide receiver Washington Redskins Ricky Sanders in Super Bowl XXII.

Irvin was also a key contributor to the Cowboys victory at Super Bowl XXVIII and Super Bowl XXX, recording five receptions for 66 meters in the first, and five receptions for 75 meters in the second.

The ultimate career injury in Philadelphia

Recovered from his neck bone injury, Irvin again had very solid years in 1997 and 1998. During the fifth game of the 1999 season, Irvin was handled at the Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia by the Philadelphia Eagles defending Tim Hauck and going to peat.

Irvin was transported from the Philadelphia pitch with a stretcher as some Philadelphia fans cheered, and the game in Philadelphia proved to be the last.
